In December 2002 an adventure started to unfold. Nine months later I travelled from Cape Town, South Africa to attend the Sandy Cove Christian Writers' Conference in Baltimore, USA for the start of an incredible five-week adventure. As I travelled, I wrote a journal. When I returned I wrote it up as The Sandy Cove Adventure.
Once again I have nine months to prepare-- this time for the Florida Christian Writers' Conference in Leesburg, Florida, USA.
In March last year, I started to pray about the possibility of attending another Christian Writers' Conference. I asked the Lord to choose which one. I also knew it would take a mighty miracle. Thanks to the world wide economic crisis, any type of travel is out of the question, never mind half-way across the world. So I asked the Lord to make it abundantly clear, when He provided the funds, that it could only be for a writing conference.
Well, He's done it again!
Today I received an email from Cec Murphey in the States, offering to finance a trip to one of two conferences. The one is too soon, so the other, Florida Christian Writers Conference, it is.
So thank You Lord! And thank you Cec for your availability to be His answer! Right now, I'm still trying to grasp the amazing news. And I'm praying for company on my travels. Any offers?
Footnote: 31st May - A writing friend, Marion Ueckermann, who lives in Johannesburg, confirmed yesterday that she will be coming with me to Florida. Is that amazing or what? Now I can get excited!
